Amelia Earhart was an American Air-woman. In the year 1921 she bought her first airplane, and she named it “Canary”. She was asked to be the first woman to fly around the world by herself. Amelia had a passion for flying, so it wasn't a hard choice. She started to fly in the late 1920s, and throughout the 1930s. (Family of Amelia Earhart)

On the other hand, Charles Lindbergh wanted to fly in the military, but couldn't because of his young age. Charles went to college and he studied at the University of Wisconsin- Madison for his engineering degree. He decided college wasn't his thing and dropped out after three semesters. After three semester in Wisconsin he traveled to Nebraska. In Nebraska he went to flight school. After a couple years he finally got his wish to join the Army as an Army air cadet. His flying adventures took him to Mexico city where he met his soon to be wife. While in Mexico City, he spent Christmas there and fell in love with Anne Marrow. While he was there he taught her how to fly. Later on in their life they flew together. Before all of this he flew across the Atlantic Ocean. He left early on May 20th, 1927, he landed only a day later on May 21st. Charles landed late that night with a crowd of 150,000 people waiting for him. He was shocked so many people were there. His journey took him about 33 hours to accomplish and he was proud he did it. (PBS)
